WHY: Tampa Downtown Partnership hosts its 21st Annual Downtown Development Forum, “Downtown in Motion,” welcoming industry leaders to discuss Downtown Tampa’s progress in economic development, transportation, and commercial and residential intown development.

This year’s Downtown Development Forum features an update on the InVision Tampa Center City Plan at five years, including public realm improvements accomplished from the plan as well as a preview of private development slated for the intown area. There will also be an in-depth discussion with transportation leaders on innovations in transportation.

Additionally, HCP Associates’ Pat Hill will present the results of Tampa Downtown Partnership’s Fifth Biennial Survey of downtown workers and residents. The full survey results will be made available on TampasDowntown.com at the conclusion of the Development Forum.

Hill will reveal the highlights of worker and resident feedback including insights into how each group interacts with Downtown, their expectations, and where those expectations are and are not being met. With results going back to the First Biennial survey taken in 2008, Hill will provide a unique look into how Downtown workers and residents’ perceptions have changed in relation to Downtown’s growth.

During a panel discussion, Hill will also deliberate with representatives from commercial office, residential development and economic development about how the survey results are influenced by their industries and the impact the findings may have in those sectors in the near future.
