21 Day Equitable Development Challenge
ULI Tampa Bay’s mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. To realize this mission it is necessary to listen to, understand and amplify more diverse perspectives engaged in solving today’s land use and urban development challenges.

Please help us make 2021 a year that truly advances our collective goals to build a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive industry and region. This requires addressing systemic racial and social inequities facing Black communities and communities of color resulting from long-standing land use policies, disparate access to financing opportunities, and restrictions to housing choices.

That's why ULI Tampa Bay is committed to being a catalyst for local change in our industry and in our diverse communities. Last year, we convened a Racial Equity task force to develop a road map for us – to identify the steps that ULI can take to anchor our future efforts.

To start this work, ULI Tampa Bay invites you to participate in a 21-Day Equitable Development Challenge.
The goal is to spend time reflecting on and identifying real actions we can take individually, at our company/organization, and as a community to address the inequities in the real estate industry.

How the Challenge Works:
For three consecutive weeks starting February 14th, you will receive an email with a list of articles, blogs, videos, etc. The challenge is organized according to the themes below and participants are asked to read, listen, or participate each week. There will be one opportunity a week to join fellow participants to learn about and discuss Tampa Bay specific projects and initiatives leading the way on addressing racial equity and “Developing
Differently”.

February 14th: Week One: History of Systemic Racism in Tampa Bay
February 21st: Week Two: Today’s Tampa Bay: Listen, Learn + Reflect
February 28th: Week Three: Committing to Change: From Moment to Movement
